A. Terms and conditions – Scavenger Hunt 2025

Organiser:
WOA Festival GmbH, Schenefelder Straße 17, 25596 Wacken, hereinafter referred to as the "Organiser".

1. Subject of the competition

The organiser will be running the "Scavenger Hunt" campaign from 26 July 2025.
The promotion consists of a scavenger hunt in the app gamification category, including a competition, which requires users of the app to search for QR codes at various points of interest on the festival grounds. After each successful QR scan, a badge with part of a key in the annual theme design is unlocked until all badges have been successfully revealed. Visitors must activate all 8 key parts.

2. Terms and conditions

  • Eligible to participate are natural persons aged 18 and over who are resident in Germany and are on the festival grounds of Wacken Open Air during the promotion.
  • Employees of WOA Festival GmbH, its parent and sister companies and their relatives are excluded.
  • Participation is free of charge and not tied to the purchase of goods or services. To participate, simply download the "Wacken Open Air 2025" app from the relevant download portal (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, etc.).

3. Procedure

  • The organiser will announce the competition on 26 July 2025 and provide information on the location of eight keys with a printed QR code.
  • At each location, there will be a "key master" who will keep the key and have the printed QR code ready for scanning (after successfully completing a simple task, if applicable).
  • By scanning the QR code for each key, a partial badge of a larger badge consisting of 8 parts will become visible in the app.
  • All 8 badges must be unlocked; this will take you to an input mask where you can enter your details to participate.
  • The winners will be drawn at random from all participants on 30 July 2025.

4. Prizes

  • 2×2 ticket upgrades to the Wacken United Area with all benefits
  • 1× Bembel prize set: Cooling box, Bembel, various Bembel merchandise
  • 1× Krombacher set: 1× Krombacher barbecue, 1× barbecue apron, 1× bucket hat, 3× tray of canned beer
  • 5× Full Metal Mayrhofen merchandise: Gloryfy Unbreakable Zillertal Edition glasses
  • 1× tool set from the "Wera" brand
  • 2× "Voelkel" deck chairs
  • 3× vouchers for the "Metalmerch" shop

The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

5. Liability & rules of conduct

  • The search is carried out at your own risk. Participants shall exercise particular caution when searching for prizes on the festival grounds and shall observe the specific dangers associated with festival operations.
  • No areas of the festival grounds that are cordoned off or otherwise secured against unauthorised access may be entered.
  • The organiser accepts no liability for damage to property arising in connection with the search, unless the organiser can be accused of gross negligence or intent.

6. Exclusion from the competition

The organiser reserves the right to exclude persons from the competition in the event of violations of these conditions of participation or attempts at manipulation.

7. Data Protection

Personal data will be processed in accordance with the information in the privacy policy – see below.

8. Legal recourse & miscellaneous

  • Legal recourse is excluded.
  • The competition is subject exclusively to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
  • The organiser reserves the right to change, interrupt or prematurely terminate the competition at any time if there is an important reason to do so.

We process the following personal data within the scope of the competition:

  • Email
  • Address
  • Telephone No.

The data will be processed exclusively for the purpose of conducting and processing the competition.

3. Legal basis for processing

The processing of personal data is based on:

  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (for the purpose of conducting the competition)

4. Storage period

Personal data will only be stored for as long as it is necessary to carry out the competition and to fulfil legal obligations.

5. Recipients of the data

The data will only be passed on to service providers commissioned with the implementation of the competition (e.g. shipping service providers, ticketing companies) if this is necessary for processing.

6. Rights of data subjects

Participants have the right to:

  • Correct inaccurate data
